Recreational Youth Baseball / Softball Umpires Needed
Broadview Heights is looking for candidates interested in becoming a youth umpire for the upcoming baseball and softball season.
This is for the boys 9-10 year old league and the girls 9-11 year old league. We are looking for both plate umpires that will call balls and strikes and base umpires that will call plays in the field.
Youth umpires should be between the age of 14 and 18.
Duties and Responsibilities
Umpires must attend all necessary umpire trainings and meetings.
They should have sufficient knowledge of the rules and structure of baseball and softball games.
Additional training will be provided.
They must be available weeknights between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM and possibly some weekends.
They must feel confident and comfortable being in charge of the game, the players, the adult coaches and parents.
Specific Information
There will usually be two games per night.
The season runs from late May to mid-July.
Umpires will be Independent Contractors.
There are a limited number of positions available for the season.
