You need to first register in the age appropriate league. Then fill out a league change form and submit it to the rec center. After the registration deadline, we will review and either accept or deny the change. If your request is denied, you can receive a refund on your registration fee.
All baseball bats used in our league ar to be drop 10 (-10) or lower. The "drop weight" is the difference between the length and weight of the bat. A drop 9 or -9 bat would be legal. A drop 11 or -11 would be illegal.
Basketball registration begins September 1st and ends October 31st.
Practices begin as soon as teams are formed. Generally that is late November / Early December. Most practices are held at the Broadview Heights Rec on a day and time of the coaches choosing. Practice will generally be the same day and time each week although there may be exceptions. Certain teams may have the option of practicing off site at one of the local school gyms.
Basketball games are played on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. A final schedule of game days and times by league will not be available until mid December.
In general, games are played by age on the following days, however; THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Friday nights: Boys 9-10 grade and Boys 11-12th grade
Saturdays: Boys and Girls 3rd grade through 8th grade ( younger teams play earlier)
Sundays: Boys and Girls 1-2nd grade
Coaches are selected and teams are formed after the registration deadline. This takes about 3 weeks. You should hear from a coach about 3 weeks after registration ends.
Players trying out for a travel team or school team must register for the Broadview Heights Recreation league in order to be guaranteed placement on a team in the event they do not make the travel or school team. If a player does make a travel or school team, they will be refunded their registration fee. A refund request form must be filled out promptly. Players may NOT participate on both a school and a recreational team.
Registration for indoor soccer begins in September and ends October 20th, 2019.
There are no practices, only games.
Games for the U5, 6 and 7 teams take place on Saturday mornings at the Broadview Heights Re Center.
Games for the U9 and above leagues take place on Saturdays between 1:00 and 8:00 PM and are played at the Royalton Fieldhouse located at 10701 Royalton Rd. in North Royalton.

Registration for indoor soccer ends one week before the games start. This means that you might not hear from a coach until the week before your games start. Not to worry, it always works out and you should have a good idea of when your first game is prior to that time.
Maybe. It will depend on the number of registrations and the number of players that want to play on that team. We will try to do so but may add players to your team that do not have a team. If there are too many players that want on a team we may not be able to accommodate that.
Registration for the fall season begins in the summer and ends July 31st.
Registration for spring soccer begins February 1st and Ends February 28th.
If you are registered for fall, you do not need to register again for the spring.
Practice days are chosen by the coach and will be at either 5:30 PM or 6:30 PM throughout the week. If you have a conflict on certain practice days it should be listed on your registration form. Although not guaranteed, we will attempt to place you on a team that does not conflict.
Munchkin (U5 and U6) practices and games are held on the Munchkin fields which will be located either at the rec center or at "The Fields" Sports Complex in Broadview Heights located at 8938 Broadview Road.
Munchkin (U5 and U6) games are played Saturday mornings at either 9:00 AM or 10:30 AM.
U7 games are played Saturday mornings at either 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM or 12:00 PM at "The Fields.".
U9 and above games are played throughout the day Saturday and on some weekdays. U9 and above games are played either at "The Fields" or in a nearby community such as Independence, Middleburg Heights, Parma, etc.
Although special requests are not guaranteed, as long as you register before the registration deadline we will make every effort to accommodate your request to play with a friend. Special requests on registrations received after the registration deadline will NOT be accommodated.
Broadview Heights fields baseball teams in the 8 year old to 14 year old age groups for baseball and 10U - 16U softball age groups. All residents of Broadview Heights are Brecksville are eligible to try out. Each league allows a certain number of players from other communities to play on our teams as well.
Typically your overall cost will be between $300 to $500 for the entire season. This will not include uniforms, indoor practice time and possible tournament fees. Those costs are typically decided as a team. Some teams offset costs with fundraising or donations.
Practices will take place during the week , twice per week for about 90 minutes. Practice days will be determined by the coaches.
If the box above the court date on your ticket has an “X,” or is circled, you must appear before Mayor’s Court on the date and at the time shown on the ticket.

Please note: There is a $20.00 late fee when fines are paid after the scheduled court date and time shown on the bottom right of the ticket. Any check tendered to the Broadview Heights Mayor's Court that is returned shall incur a $25 returned check fee.
MULTIPLE VIOLATIONS OR A CONTINUANCE
To arrange for a continuance or if there are multiple violations on your ticket, you must speak to the Clerk of Court (440-526-4895 x4) and know your original court date or the date of the ticket.

We need to receive a request for continuance by 4pm the day prior to the original court date. You will need to call the court after you email/fax, to be sure we received the continuance request and we can advise if it was granted.
If you live local or want to come to court to sign a continuance form, this can be done M - F 8:30am - 4:30pm, but only up to 11 am on your court date. The court window will close at noon on court days and open again at 1 :00 pm for court. After 1 :00 pm, you must speak directly to the prosecutor to request an additional continuance.

An appointment is not required. However, due to meetings and engagements, he is often not available on short notice. For that reason, he holds OPEN HOURS generally on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00 PM, in which case an appointment is not necessary.

The mayor does perform weddings for residents of Broadview Heights. They are generally scheduled during business hours, by appointment, and held in the Council Chambers. It is a short civil ceremony. A marriage license must be obtained from the Cuyahoga County Marriage License Bureau prior to the ceremony. Contact the Mayor’s office at 440-526-3651 for exceptions to this procedure.
