Preschool Multi Sports

WHAT: This program provides 2.5-5 year olds with a positive, age-appropriate introduction to a variety of sports. Sports offered include Soccer, Football, Hockey, Track & Field, Basketball and more in a fun learning environment. We also work on motor skills and development through: Skipping, Hopping, Balance, etc. The program helps children to enjoy exercise and to see which sports they enjoy. It also helps build confidence and social skills to help prepare preschoolers for participation in more formal sports programs.

WHEN: Thursdays, 4/15-5/13

TIME: Ages 2.5-3, 9:30AM-10:10AM.  Ages 4 & 5 10:10AM-10:50AM

WHERE: Broadview Height Community and Recreation Center Gym.

FEES: Resident $90, Non-Resident $95.

Volleyball

WHAT: An instructional program for girls and boys in grades 1-6. All fundamentals will be taught, including serves, sets, spikes, returns, positioning and team strategy. Whether your child is an experienced player or a complete novice, they will have a blast and learn a lot about the sport in this fun and innovative program! Maximum 24.  

WHEN: Wednesdays, 4/14-5/19.

TIME: Grades 1-3, 5:30PM-6:30PM, Grades 4-6, 6:30PM-7:30PM.

WHERE: Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center.  

FEES: Resident $90, Non-Resident $95. 

Hoops Stars Basketball 

WHAT: A highly instructional, fun-oriented introductory basketball program for children in Preschool-grade 2. Players are taught the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning, defense, and rebounding. Maximum 32. 

WHEN: Thursdays, 4/15-5/20. 

TIME: Hoop Stars (grade 1-2) 6:30PM-7:30PM,

Little Hoops  (Preschool—Kindergarten) 5:30PM-6:30PM  

WHERE: Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center.  

FEES: Resident $90, Non-Resident $95. 

Hummingbirds Soccer

WHAT: Children age 3 & 4 years old will learn the basics of soccer: dribbling, passing, trapping, shooting, and positioning. Each session consists of instruction in each aspect of the game and low-key, non-competitive games. All teams will receive a schedule.  

WHEN: 

Session 1: 4/10-5/15, Session 2: Saturdays, 6/12-7/24 (no class 7/3). 

TIME: 1:00PM-2:00PM or 2:00PM-3:00PM.  

WHERE: Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center.  

FEES: Resident $90, Non-Resident $95. 

Summer Sports Camps

Ultimate Warrior—6/14-6/18. Join us for fitness, fun, and “Survivor” type team challengers!  Age Appropriate and safe activities specifically designed to challenge, inspire, and excite.  Games and tasks this week include obstacle courses, relays, tug of war, and many other fun activities designed to teach cooperation and teamwork while also developing self esteem.  

World Cup Soccer—6/21-6/25.  Players learn foot skills, passing, shooting, goal keeping, and team concepts.  Each day, we will play fun, small sided games as well as individual competitions.  As always, teamwork and sportsmanship is emphasized.  Each player will pick their country and make their own pennant and tee shirt. 

Sticks and Stones Camp—6/28-7/2.  Campers have a blast learning about and playing awesome 'stick' sports, including lacrosse, street hockey, wiffle ball, and more! Lacrosse instruction will focus on passing, catching, fielding ground balls, positioning, and defense. Soft touch balls will be used for lacrosse and no checking or poke checking will be permitted. 

Survivor Camp—7/12-7/16.  All the fun of the TV show without getting “voted out”.  Campers are divided into “tribes” and compete in fun team challenges and races each day.  Hidden idols, secret advantages, race ending puzzles will all be a part of the fun! 

Cheer Camp—7/19-7/23.  Learn a variety of cheers, jumps, kicks and movements. We’ll also play fun cheerleading games and decorate crazy uniforms to wear at an exhibition on the last day of camp. Staff coaches are experienced cheerleaders who have run and attended many of our cheer camps. 

All Pro Football Camp—7/19-7/23. Camp will teach campers the basic fundamentals of football in an atmosphere that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork and the joy of sports. This program is ideal for children of all skills and backgrounds. In addition to learning fundamentals, techniques and strategies of the sport, campers will participate in flag football games every day as well as fun games and contests such as “Punt, Pass, and Kick” and “NFL Fast Football”. 

Olympics Camp—7/26-7/30. Children are grouped by age and divided into countries to learn about and compete in all types of Olympic sports! Campers also learn about the culture and history of their adopted country and make a flag to carry during the "Closing Ceremonies" and "Presentation of Medals"

FEES: 1 Week Camp—$120/week, 3-5 weeks—$110/week, All 6 weeks—$100/week
