Meetings

At regular council meetings, members make decisions in a formal setting. The public is invited to make statements. At work sessions, council members discuss agenda items that will be voted on at the regular meetings. Those who attend work sessions will hear background information as well as questions and opinions of the council representatives, and they are invited to make statements.

About the Council
The City Council authorizes all contracts and financial appropriations. They also enact ordinances and resolutions, and determine the number of city employees and the rate of compensation for those employees. Councilpersons also represent and are responsive to resident concerns, especially the ward councilpersons.
