A proud resident of Broadview Heights for 37 years, Tom Pavlica has built a life deeply rooted in family and community. He and his wife, Karen, raised their two children in Broadview Heights. Their daughter, Angela, lives in Avon, Ohio, with her husband, Dan, and their dog, Gino. Their son, Tommy, resides in Sacramento, California.

After a 34-year career as a Senior Construction Manager with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, Tom retired and devoted his time and experience to public service. He has represented Ward 1 on Broadview Heights City Council since 2008 and was elected Council President Pro-Tem in 2024.

In addition to his City Council responsibilities, Tom serves as the Council Representative to the Parks and Recreation Board and chairs both the Recreation Committee and the Community Improvement Corporation. He is also an alternate member of the Board of Zoning Appeals and serves as a liaison to the North Royalton City Schools. His committee work includes the Service Committee and the Building Codes/Public Buildings/Growth Planning and Zoning Committee.

Community involvement has long been a priority for Tom. He has served on the Board of the Broadview Heights Chamber of Commerce, is a Trustee and lifetime member of the Broadview Heights Historical Society, and is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 14406. He is also a dedicated parishioner at Assumption Church. In recognition of his commitment to volunteer service, Tom received the Chamber’s Gift of Time Award in 2017.

Approachable and accessible, Tom encourages residents to reach out with questions, feedback, or concerns. While elected to represent Ward 1, he is committed to listening to and working on behalf of all Broadview Heights residents. He strongly believes in the city’s sense of community and its continued potential as a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
