Responsibilities of the Finance Director

The finance director serves the mayor and city council as financial adviser in municipal affairs of the city. Duties include the preparation of the annual budget, supervision of all accounts, and the establishment and maintenance of accounting procedures necessary for the making of all financial reports. The finance director is required to attend all council meetings.

The department is also responsible for approving all purchase requisitions, quarterly utility billing / collections, and for preparation of quarterly financial reports required by state law.
