We are excited to announce that we’ve partnered with the US Census Bureau to support the 2020 Census !As a partner, we’ll be working to ensure that our community is accurately represented. https://www.2020census.gov/
Read the message below from the U.S. Bureau of Census..
We, like everyone share in the concern and utmost importance of the safety of our fellow friends, family and coworkers in the midst of a public health crisis.
With that said, I would like to take a moment to ensure you, our partner and trusted voice in the community, are aware of important and recent changes to the 2020 Census operation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I welcome you to share this update with your stakeholders, but do understand this is a fluid situation and may change; we encourage you to stay up-to-date with Census news through the Census Bureau’s newsroom press releases.
First, please take a moment to read U.S. Census Bureau Director Dillingham’s Statement on the 2020 Census Operations.
Next, we are asking for your help to communicate the following actions within our community:
Encourage Early Self-Response:
The key message right now: It has never been easier to respond on your own, whether online, over the phone or by mail—all without having to meet a census taker.
For those wishing to complete the questionnaire by phone call 844-330-2020, or call the number associated with your preferred language.
Hours of operation: Phone lines are open every day from 7 am to 2 am Eastern Time.
Post on your social media accounts that the Census is here and people can go online or respond by phone to respond now, or, if they’ve received the paper form via US Mail.
Take advantage of the Social Media Toolkit for partners and follow, like, love, and share the Census Bureau’s social media accounts:
Commit to Being a Mobile Questionnaire Assistance (MQA) location:
Your continued partnership during the next phase of the Census is vital to ensuring a complete and accurate response in our community.
Aside from your “yes, I’m in!” response, no other action is needed at this time. While the MQA phase timeline has shifted, the mission has not changed. MQA is designed to be a location staffed by a Census employee, much like the recruiting phase, in areas with low response rates. Those who have not yet responded will have the opportunity to respond to the Census at an MQA site with privacy, security and confidentiality, a hallmark of the Census operation.
Finally, at this time, 2020 Census field operations have been suspended for two weeks, until April 1, 2020.
The public is strongly encouraged to respond to the 2020 Census online using a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, and can also respond by phone or mail. Everyone should respond to the 2020 Census as soon as they receive their invitation – and when they’re finished, they can make sure their friends, family and social networks know about the importance of responding.
In closing, I want to again thank you for all the support and active participation you have given for the Census and I look forward to your continued support for MQA.
