The City of Broadview Heights and the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education Partner to Benefit Local Business

The City of Broadview Heights Economic Development Department and the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education (NOCHE) have partnered to assist Broadview Heights businesses in developing internship programs and finding interns. Internships help participating businesses reduce hiring costs while providing a flexible source of personnel and improving employee retention. Internships also are proven tools to keep talent in a region.
Employers can register online at www.neointern.net to post available internships and view student resumes. Manufacturers and entrepreneurs are eligible for additional screening services from NOCHE staff, reducing the amount of time required to fill an available internship.
Interns are capable of contributing to large tasks and projects and can be a valuable asset to any team, including engineering, sales, and marketing. Broadview Heights businesses of any size may utilize interns for major projects, including but not limited to competitive analysis, researching new product or service ideas, sales and marketing, event planning, audio and video production, legal research, graphic design, and financial analysis. Professional student assistance is also available to local businesses to aid them in the creation or updating of their business and marketing plans.
NOCHE interns come from virtually all Northeast Ohio higher education institutions, and hundreds of students attending schools outside of Northeast Ohio have found internships through NOCHE’s NEOintern.net.
“This partnership is a win for all involved. Our businesses receive assistance from our area’s premier universities, the students develop maturity and can combine the theories they learned in the classroom with actual practice, and when Broadview Heights businesses succeed our great City benefits,” says Broadview Heights Mayor Sam Alai.
The partnership will be “open for business” beginning October 10. For more information and to get started, click on the NEOintern link or call (440) 526-6259.
