National Basketball Academy Clinic
Broadview Heights Parks and Recreation Department and the National Basketball Academy present the Hoop Zone Basketball Clinic for boys and girls in the 2nd through 9th grade. The focus of this three day program is to teach young athletes the fundamentals of basketball. Through a specialized program, players will learn shooting techniques, point moves, passing skills with both hands, defensive principals, motion cuts, ball screen series, jab series and more. Students are taught in a 10:1 ratio by professional instructors from The National Basketball Academy. The National Basketball Academy a professional basketball training organization that offers basketball skill training for individuals and teams through a variety of standard and custom training programs for professional, collegiate, high school and youth athletes.
The clinic will be held in the Broadview Heights Gym.

Memorial Day Parade
The City of Broadview Heights is holding its Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 28, 2018. A parade serves as the gathering ceremony for the memorial service which honors our fallen soldiers. It will step off from The Crossings Shopping Center at 11:00AM on Broadview Road, just north of Route 82. Spectators are invited to join the end of the parade and follow it to Broadview Center where there will be a memorial ceremony, veteran’s tribute, and complimentary refreshments. The Recreation Center will be free of charge to all residents from 10AM-4PM. The splash park will be open on Memorial Day following the ceremonies.

Aquatic Egg Hunt
Join us for our annual Aquatic Easter Egg Hunt! There will be floating eggs and sinking eggs for the hunters to find. One “magic” egg per age group will earn the hunter a special prize. All participants will receive a goodie bag. You must pre-register for this event by Wednesday March 28th , 2018.

Spring Break Camp
Looking for a great place for your kids to spend their Spring Break? Bring them to our Camp! This weekday camp runs 8:30am to 4:30pm. Extended care is available, see rates below. Children ages 5 through 12 are eligible to participate. Daily activities will include: games, swimming, crafts, movies, relays, obstacle courses, sports activities, and much more! Children need to bring a lunch, towel, and bathing suit. They may also bring a snack or money for the vending and game machines.

Community Garage Sale
Saturday, June 9th, 2018 The City of Broadview Heights will be hosting a city-wide garage sale on Saturday, June 9, 2018, 9:00am-5:00pm, rain or shine. Residents who cannot, or do not wish to have the sale at their home may reserve space at the Broadview Center West parking lot from 9:00am-2:00pm.
Section 1 - Garage Sale at Recreation Center
Fees Include: Publicity in the local papers, website, electronic sign, the mayor’s weekly email, Facebook, and signs at Broadview Center. Participants will receive two parking spaces in the parking lot, one to park and one to sell their items (participants must provide their own tables/tents). These spaces will be assigned. No weapons, explosives or alcohol are allowed. All sales are final. Min. 5, Max. 25
Section 2 - Garage Sale at Home
Fees Include: Advertising listed above as well as a Garage Sale Permit. A downloadable listing of garage sale addresses plus a summary of sale items will be posted on the city website and made available at the front desk.

Nights In The Heights
These outdoor rock concerts will be held Fridays; 6/1, 7/6, 8/3, and 9/7 from 7PM to 10PM. All concerts will take place rain or shine on the Broadview Center grounds in the pavilion near the football field. There will be plenty of free parking as well as shelter in the event of rain. Food and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Each concert event will have a car “Cruise-In” hosted by Next Level Auto Detailing. There will be a specially designated parking area for the vehicles. Monies raised from Cruise-In activities will be donated to a pre-designated local charity. Questions about the concerts or sponsorship opportunities may be directed to Annette Phelps at City Hall at 440-526-4357. Call Shawn Medina at (440-476-9282) for information about the Cruise-In. The concerts are free and open to the public. Please note, the splashpark will be closed on these dates.

Carnival rides, games, food, live entertainment, fireworks, beer garden and contests. The Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting Mayor Alai’s 5K & 1-Mile Walk on Sunday 7/15. Mayors 5K and 1 Mile Walk
This is a special event for the whole family in conjunction with the Broadview Heights “Home Days on the Green”. Race begins and ends at the Broadview Heights Recreation Center: 9543 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, OH 44147.

8:30 a.m. - 5K Run (B-tag chip timing, 3.1 miles) and 1 Mile Walk/Run

Pancake Breakfast Information:
The Broadview Heights Community Pancake Breakfast will be held in our
gymnasium the morning of the race from 9AM until 11AM. The breakfast will
feature pancakes, sausage, juice and milk. The cost of the breakfast is $8 per person. All registered race participants receive a free ticket to the breakfast.

The Broadview Heights Community Pancake Breakfast will be held in our gymnasium from 9AM until 11AM on Sunday, July 15th featuring Chris Cakes of Ohio. The breakfast will feature pancakes, sausage, juice and milk. The cost of the breakfast is $8 per person.

Outdoor Movie Night and Camp Out Featuring COCO (PG)

Come spend the night with us as we show COCO on the big screen! Concession stand will be open during the movie. Event is free to attend (bring your chairs and blankets!) but if you would like to camp out, you must register in advance at our front desk or online. Registration is $15 per tent per family and can be setup anytime after 5pm on the 4th. Restrooms will be available all night.
Cleveland Indians Day with Broadview Heights
Looking for an awesome night out at the ballpark? Look no further. Broadview Heights night with the Cleveland Indians will take place on August 17th and is a great family event that you can share with other members of the community. Tickets are sold int he family deck and Progressive Field for $23 per ticket. Tickets go fast, only 250 will be sold at this price. Home School Swim (swimming runs through April 12th, we will resume once our new pool is open) The Broadview Heights Park & Recreation Department offers open swim time for home schoolers ages 5 and up during the day. This is a great way to get some physical fitness and meet new friends! Swim days take place Thursdays from October through May from 1pm to 2:45 pm from ages 5-12. All non members must pay the $3 drop rate, including adults. Children under age 7 must be accompanied in the water by an adult. If under age 7 must be accompanied in the water by an adult.
