Adult First Aid/CPR/AED

The program helps participants recognize and respond to cardiac, respiratory and first aid emergencies. This course meets OSHA/Workplace requirements. Participant must demonstrate competency in all required skills and past the written test with a score at least 80%.  Upon successful completion, you will receive a digital certification valid for 2 years. Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED

The program helps participants recognize and respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Participants must demonstrate competency in all required skills and past the written test with a score of at least 80%. Upon successful completion, you will receive a digital certification valid for 2 years. This course is great for parents, teachers, babysitters, etc. If you have any questions, please call Aquatics Manager Amanda Hutcheson at 440-717-4026.  Register by May 3. Max 8

Pediatric First Aid/AED/CPR

This course is ideal for the babysitters, scouts and parents with young children. The program helps participants recognize and respond to cardiac, respiratory and first aid emergencies of infants and young children. Participants must demonstrate competency in all required skills and past the written test with a score of at least 80%. Upon successful completion, you will receive a digital certification valid for 2 years. Bring a bag lunch. Lifeguarding

The  lifeguard course is  instituted by the American Red Cross.  Upon successful completion, you will receive the following certifications: Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Automatic External Defibrillator, and Preventative Disease Transmission.  The National American Red Cross states you must be 15 years old by the END of the class.  You will come in prior to class for a water test.  Anyone failing this water test will receive a refund.  NO REFUNDS after the first day of class.  All classes are mandatory.  Cost covers your books and the American Red Cross fee.  Please bring extra towels, a bathing suit, writing utensils, highlighter and paper to each class.  If you have any questions please call the Aquatics Manager Amanda Hutcheson at 440-717-4026. Some of the coursework will be conducted on line at home.  Section A and B are held at Medina Community Recreation Center.  Section C is held at Brecksville Recreation Center.

Water Safety Instructor

This course trains instructor candidates to teach all American Red Cross swimming and safety courses except Lifeguarding. This course will be a blended learning course which requires the student to complete the on-line portion which will take approximately 7 hours. You will be attending the in-person skill learning and practice sessions. Participants must demonstrate competency in all required skills and past the written test with a score of at least 80%. Upon successful completion of class, candidates will receive a digital certification for Water Safety Instructors valid for 2 years. You must be 16 years old by the last scheduled class. All classes are mandatory, no exceptions. Lifeguarding in not a prerequisite. Please bring extra towels, a bathing suit, writing utensils, highlighter and paper to class. Classes held at Seven Hills Recreation Center and Broadview Heights Recreation Center.
