Civil Service Commission


The Civil Service Commission meets at least once a month and as needed.


There are three members who serve four-year terms. The members are appointed by the mayor and approved by City Council. They cannot hold any other municipal office or appointment.

About the Commission

This commission determines the fitness and merit of candidates for full-time positions and promotions in the Broadview Heights Police Department and Fire Department. It is responsible for arranging written, agility, physical, and psychological tests and an analysis of test results as governed by the Civil Service Commission of Broadview Heights and the State of Ohio.

There are NO Civil Service Examinations scheduled at this time.
